Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was born March 10, 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the company to NRT for $66 millions. Then, shortly after, she exited from the business. Corcoran is one of ABC's initial Shark investors, has been a part of every episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals until February 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was second in a family of 10 children who was born in Edgewater. Florence Corcoran's mother was an errand-taker. Her father, Edwin W. Corcoran Jr., bounced between jobs throughout Corcoran's early years. At times, her family relied on deliveries of free food from a local grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who drank often and treated her mother with disrespect. Corcoran was a troubled student throughout school. Corcoran later found out that she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended a Catholic primary school within her community and started high school in St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. After failing several courses in her first year of high school, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School in Leonia, where she was a D-student when she graduated.
