 KyraMinturn Sedgwick, born 19th August 1965, is an American actor. Her most famous role is that of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick received an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her performance as Johnson. The show ended after its seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring character as Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick received nominations for the Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Her film credits include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) The Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are in addition to her numerous. Sedgwick is the daughter Patricia Rosenwald and is an educator, family therapist, venture capitalist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII, a speech therapist. Her mother was Jewish, and her father was an Episcopalian. She was also of English origins. Sedgwick has stated that she's Jewish and participates in Passover dinners.
